ORIGIN OF TIBI DABO STUDIO

Summer of 2013

We [Sara and Morgan] first met in college because of our passion for the Catholic faith and our budding architectural studies. We studied abroad together in Barcelona and it was there we discovered Mount Tibidabo, a beautiful mountain overlooking the city and the shores below. This breathtaking view along with the works of Antoni Gaudí inspired us both to use design as a means to express the beauty of God. Six years later, in 2019, we felt inspired to create our own Catholic brand with faith-based designs, and that's when Tibi Dabo Studio was born.

We hope Tibi Dabo Studio brings the truth, beauty, and goodness of the Faith to your home and everyday life.

ORIGIN OF "TIBI DABO"

Mount Tibidabo & St. Peter's Basilica

The phrase "Tibi Dabo" is Latin for "I will give to thee." Our favorite spot in Barcelona was the view from the Sacred Heart Basilica on Mount Tibidabo. Named by locals because it's said to be the mountain where Satan tempted Jesus* (and if you’ve ever seen it, you may just agree). The same words are inscribed in the dome at St. Peter’s Basilica quoting the Gospel of Matthew** where Christ gave Peter the keys to the kingdom.

*Matthew 4:9

Latin: et dixit illi haec tibi omnia dabo si cadens adoraveris me

English: And said to him: All these will I give thee, if falling down thou wilt adore me.

**Matthew 16: 18-19

Latin: Tu es Petrus et super hanc petram aedificabo ecclesiam mean et tibi dabo claves regni caelorum.

English: And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven.

MORGAN

Owner & Designer

I'm a Catholic wife and mother of five. My days are full as a homeschooling stay-at-home mom and supportive wife to a busy entrepreneur . When I get a moment to spare, some of my hobbies include: navigating the world as a textbook introvert, eating lots of sushi and cereal, learning Chopin on the piano (he understands my pregnancy emotions), and watching Cary Grant movies.

SARA

Owner & Designer

I’m a lifelong Catholic, a wife, and a stay-at-home mom to two little ones. My days are full in the best kind of way—caring for my family, reading when I can, baking (especially during the holidays), and finding small ways to be creative with my kids. Our family recently moved, and I’ve enjoyed exploring our new city of Nashville! My faith remains a strong part of my life, and I’ve always loved learning about old devotions and obscure saints. While I no longer work as an architect, I’m grateful to have Tibi Dabo Studio, which continues to be a joyful, creative outlet for me.
